Study on the Condition of Production and Extraction of Pigment From an Antarctic Fungus Geomyces sp.

A Geomyces species was isolated from Antarctica soil,which produces plenty of red pigment.With screening test of culture medium and temperature,the basic medium was determined in which the pigment was produced,and it was discovered that low temperature benefited the accumulation of pigment in the fungus.In addition,compared the adsorption capacities and desorption rates of several macroporous absorption resin,HPD-722 resin and 70\% ethanol were determined for pigment absorption and eluting reagent.After extraction and absorption by macroporous resin,the Color Value Units E_1cm^1\% increased from 12.68 to 144.05,a 10.4 times increase was recorded.
