Multidimensional Decision Evaluation of the Development Potential in the Coastal Area: The Case for Dongying

A method of main function zoning combined with the development potential assessment was applied in the coastal area to set up a two-dimensional decision model based on the subsystem of resource and environment and the subsystem of economic factors. Based on the multi-factor comprehensive evaluation of regional development potential, an integrated multidimensional decision model has been built together with the main function zoning. It is indicated from the emperical study of the Yellow River Delta that the regional development potential of DongYing Blue Economic zone is much higher than the other areas. Estuary belongs to the key development zone while DongYing, KenLi and GuangRao are considered as optimization zones or restricted zones.
