Abstract:
This study discusses the erosion characteristics and influencing factors of typical sandy coasts in the Shandong Peninsula, by using the method of elevation monitoring of beach profile and sediment grain size analysis. The results show that, the beaches in the Haiyang City are mainly eroded. The total amount of erosion from 2018 to 2019 was 2.48×10
4 m
3. The Dingzizui beach is dominated by erosion, but both sides of the beach are affected by the estuary, showing that the beach surface is stable and the backshore is weakly silted. The erosion of the Chaoli-Zhuangshang-Yangjiaopan beach has gradually increased from west to east. The central part of the the Wanmi beach is heavily eroded and the two ends were relatively weak. The grain size of surface sediments gradually becomes finer and finer from land to sea, but the overall trend appears to be coarsening. Wave and extreme weather are two important dynamic factors controlling the change of sandy beach erosion, and the slope of beach is an important factor leading to the differences of sandy beach profile and surface sediments.
